The 24th AsiaTEFL International Conference (AsiaTEFL 2026) will be held at Xi’an Jiaotong University, China, from May 28 to 31, 2026. As a leading international academic conference in the field of English language education, the AsiaTEFL International Conference has long served as an important platform for advancing research and practice in linguistics and applied linguistics across Asia. The conference brings together English language educators, researchers, and graduate students from diverse educational contexts to share research findings, exchange pedagogical insights, and foster international collaboration. The program will feature keynote and plenary addresses, parallel paper sessions, symposia, workshops, poster presentations, and professional networking opportunities. In response to requests from prospective participants and contributors, the submission deadline has been extended to January 31, 2026.


Conference Topics

Under the theme “ELT in a Changing World: Global Challenges and New Opportunities,” AsiaTEFL 2026 invites proposals that examine current theoretical and pedagogical issues in English language teaching in a globalized, multilingual, and digitally mediated world. Extended sessions with multiple talks on a common theme. Followed by a discussion period.

🔹 Multimodal Posters (90 minutes)

Visual presentations combining text, images, and other media. Presenters discuss their work with attendees.


Submission Guidelines

Submission: Proposals should be submitted through the conference submission system via the official website: http://www.asiatefl2026.org

Submission Deadline: January 31, 2026

Format Requirements: Abstracts should not exceed 250 words. The working language of the conference is English.

Notification of Acceptance: February 28, 2026

Publication Information: Accepted abstracts that are presented at the conference will be included in the Springer conference proceedings, which are submitted for indexing in Web of Science. Additionally, presented authors are invited to submit a full manuscript for consideration in a related special issue of TESOL Communications.


Registration Fees

The conference offers Early-bird Registration and Regular Registration. The early-bird registration period runs from March 1 to March 31, 2026, and the regular registration period runs from April 1 to May 15, 2026. Details of the registration fees are provided below.
